About SAT
The SAT is a standardized test administered by the College Board and is required by most US universities for undergraduate admissions. Test Format
- Reading — 65 minutes, 52 questions based on 5 passages covering literature, history, social sciences, and natural sciences.
- Writing & Language — 35 minutes, 44 questions testing grammar, punctuation, and rhetorical skills through passage-based editing.
- Math (No Calculator) — 25 minutes, 20 questions covering algebra, problem-solving, and advanced math concepts.
- Math (Calculator) — 55 minutes, 38 questions allowing calculator use with additional focus on data analysis and complex problems.
- Optional Essay — 50 minutes, analyzing how an author builds an argument (not always required by all universities).
